Construction of a marine Forward Operation Base (FOB) for Nigerian Customs Service at Ikorodu Lighter Terminal Complex

On September 11, 2014, the Nigerian Customs Service awarded Portplus Limited a Contract for the Construction of a Marine Operation Base at Ikorodu Lighter Terminal, Ikorodu, Lagos.

The project consists of repositioning and inventory of containers within the Terminal to create space for the Forward Operation Base (FOB) construction within the Terminal Complex. The FOB will be fenced using PVC coated galvanized steel security mesh to provide security while still allowing for operational lines of sight.

Infrastructure: A water borehole and mini-water works and seventy Thousand (70,000) capacity AGO fuel dump will be constructed.

Accommodation and Office Structures: A fully furnished accommodation and office structures will be constructed to accommodate 40 Customs official comprising of 10 officers and 30 other ranks.

Rehabilitation of the Jetty: The jetty area has suffered extensive damage due to erosion, ingress of sea water and collapse of jetty structures. The jetty will be reconstructed, the damage area repaired and the channel will be dredged to a minimum draft of 5 meters into and along the marine channel to allow easy entry and exit of vessels to the FOB.
