INTRODUCTION TO GENERAL NAVIGATION AND BASIC VESSEL MAINTENANCE FOR NCS OFFICERS AND MEN

In April 2019, Portplus in collaboration with the Nigerian Customs Service trained 40 officers and men on seagoing in line with IMO standards, to prepare them on how to efficiently man and operate the security patrol boats safely. The Officers of Nigerian customs are currently well equipped to deploy the two custom vessels (Group of Nine and Customs Pride ) to both the Eastern and Western Marine commands, with qualified vessel manangement team in place. This is in line with the current efforts of the government at arresting smuggling from all angles and increasing revenue for the government.

Local Content Capacity Building

Portplus Limited, in collaboration with SNEPCo is currently training 8 Nigerian students in different maritime universities abroad, as undergraduates in Nautical sciences & Marine transportation, Marine Engineering, and Marine electrical & elctronics . This is to support local content capacity building aim of the NCDMB, in order to adequately position our Nation in the maritime industry locally and internationally.

Networking and Business strategy

As part of the strategic plan of Portplus Limited, we network well in the industry, and we strategically improve our business and support the industry by being active participant at industry events. In April and May 2019 respectively, Portplus Limited delegates (Business development/Management team) attended both the NOGOF held in Bayelsa, Nigeria and OTC held in Houston, United States with interests on Marine Vessel Opportunities, Ship Repairs, OEM representation, technical partnership on the Exploration & Production of Portplus Ltd Oil business interest across the world.

  • Portplus Limited has successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigerian Navy for the Provision of Maritime Security in the Maritime Environment.
  • Portplus Limited recently signed a Master Time Charter Agreement with Exxon Mobil, for the Provision of two medium-Sized Platform Support Vessels to support its deep water operations.

  • Portplus Limited has signed an Exclusive Representation Rights with the Institute of Geophysics Russia, to provide Thermovision Tomography Technology in Ghana.
